The reference image is from my family slides of my Mom and my brother at Brackley Beach, Prince Edward Island in August 1965. There was nothing like a chocolate bar from the cooler as a kid in the middle of a hot day at the beach. My Mom never would have saw this slide, or of course the painting, but when I think of those long days at the beach as a kid with her, this image is always in my head.
