The original black and white photo reference was from New Glasgow, P.E.I. 1935. The exact location I am still trying to find out. It was part of a series I did with Island historian David Weale. I started it in 2005, maybe got a little overwhelmed with it, many details were lost in trying to translate a 2 inch x 3 inch photo into a 5' x 6 foot painting. The next thing I knew it was 2018, and it still hung on my wall unfinished. This was the year I was going to challenge myself and make the time to finish it. The image screams to me that simpler times are not always a step backwards.
